The Revista Ecuatoriana de Neurología (REN) (ISSN 1019-8113) is the official scientific dissemination organ of the Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Neurología, the Liga Ecuatoriana Contra la Epilepsia and the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Enfermedad Cerebrovascular. Furthermore, REN is part of the Federación de Revistas Neurológicas en Español, with a mutual agreement of cooperation existing between all the publications that form this Federation.Its first edition was printed in 1992 and is available in an online version from the 1999 edition.

REN is published three times a year and is included in the SCOPUS database, the Expanded Citation Index, the Neuroscience Citation Index (ISI), the Excerpta Médica Database EMBASE (Elsevier Science B.V.), Scielo and the PERIÓDICA Bibliographic Index of the Centro de Información Científica y Humanística de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico.
